Wasps are cybernetically enhanced human females that are affiliated with the Teknos. They appear as young and slender women clad in light protective gear. On their backs they wear two metal wings, each having an integrated rotor. They can use this to hover at a fixed altitude above the ground. They also carry a blaster gun on their left hand as light armament.

Wasps thrive in heavily irradiated areas and prefer to build their hives in close proximity to regions struck by the Teknos' nuke barrages.[1][2]

Gameplay[]

Mayhem mode[]

Wasps are quick and nimble warriors. Their jump is unique, as it lets them hover at a fixed altitude above the ground, which lets them evade most hazards. They are best used against slow enemies, like Ecton or Brontu, which can easily be frozen by the Wasp's cryobeam. However, Wasps are also fragile; they have the lowest amount of health of all warriors, and their short range puts them at a disadvantage against flying enemies with long-range attacks, such as the Dark Angel and the Firewitch. The Prana Devil is a threat as well, as it can chew off a large chunk, if not all of the Wasp's health with a single bite attack.

Attacks[]

Square. Blaster: Quickly fires energy short ranged bolts from the blaster gun. Each shot deals 2 damage and costs 3 energy.
Triangle. Cryobeam: Can only be used while hovering. Fires a vertical downward beam that freezes the enemy in place. Deals no damage and costs 20 energy.
Circle. Life drain (also known as Drain Energy in the game's manual): Continuously damages the enemy and heals Wasp by the same amount. Deals 9 damage per second and costs 17 energy per second. Ideally used as a follow-up to the cryobeam.

Strategy mode[]

In strategy mode, Wasps are the cheapest Teknos unit, requiring only 70 AUR to create. They are also very mobile and can move up to 3 hexes per turn. Due to their hover ability, they also count as flying units and can cross water hexes, though like all units they are not allowed to land on them.

Skill[]

The Wasp's skill is Regen. They can regenerate 25 health for any allied unit on an adjacent hex or themselves for the cost of 20 AUR.

Most of the Wasps' names are derived from some sort of gemstones or other minerals. The full list of all 20 names is as follows:
